Welcome to my website. It’s a portfolio of my favorite landscape photographs. It portrays the wild and romantic scenery of the North of England which provides a constant source of inspiration for my photographic adventures. I only take a few photos each month and my aim is to capture each scene at its best and make each shot `definitive'. This is (of course) not really possible and I tend to keep going back to a place to capture that `perfect’ image. There are a few shots in this gallery that I’m completely satisfied with, but not many. I see them as work in progress and it’s good fun going back to visit these places anyway. Above all photography should be fun. I do try to get the shot right first time `in camera’ so that little if any post processing is required. However I have been known to dabble in the dark arts of Photoshop and the even darker (and more controversial) art of High Dynamic Range (H.D.R). I also try to capture my images in the best light which tends to be the first and last hour of the day when the light is rich and golden. I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I’ve enjoyed making them. I like each photographic trip to be good fun and an adventure. I hope the images inspire you to go and see the places for yourself (if you haven’t already) and that you derive as much fun and enjoyment out of them as I have. If you can, take your camera with you too, I’d be interested to see your results. I enjoy getting feedback on my images and I welcome constructive criticism.
